The Nepali science fiction film Eklo has had its world premiere in New York, the United States. According to Nepali time, the premiere was held on Monday morning at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, New York.
Actors Pradeep Khadka and Jamie Bacon attended the premiere ceremony. The event was also graced by Shailesh Shrestha, founder of Miss Nepal North America; co-founder Lakpa Wangbu Tamang; Manita Gurung, president of Tamu Family New York; and senior dance choreographer Govinda Rai.
Shrestha added that Eklo makes a genuine effort to offer something different in Nepali cinema. The premiere saw participation from both Nepali-American and non-Nepali audiences. Screening the film at a prestigious venue known for hosting premieres of major Hollywood films was seen as a significant achievement for Nepali cinema.
Directed by Pradeep Shahi, Eklo is scheduled for release in Nepal starting January 1, 2026 (Poush 17, 2082 BS).
