‘Aa Bata Aama’ Sold for Malta Release

KATHMANDU: Nepali film ‘Aa Bata Aama’, directed by Chandra Pant, has secured its screening rights for Malta, reflecting growing international interest ahead of its domestic release.

Set to be released in Nepal on January 30 (Magh 16), the film has drawn attention following the release of its poster and songs, which received positive responses from audiences. The film is based on the emotional stories of Nepalis living abroad.

The production team recently signed an agreement with Malta-based distributors Subas Dhakal and Bikash Dhungana for theatrical screenings in the European country, targeting the Nepali diaspora there.

Director Pant confirmed that the Malta rights were sold at a satisfactory price, expressing happiness over the film’s rising demand overseas. Produced under the banner of Arya Entertainment, the film stars Bipana Thapa, Paul Shah, Pradeep Rawat, Usha Upreti, Simran Pant, among others.

The film features music by Koshish Chhetri, Babul Giri and Thaneshwor Gautam, with cinematography by Navaraj Upreti. Distribution in Nepal will be handled by RR Films, while OSR Digital holds the digital rights.
