The trailer of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Viral Gorkhe’, set to release on Magh 1, has been officially unveiled. The 3-minute-55-second-long trailer, launched at an event in Kathmandu on Wednesday, offers a clear glimpse into the film’s storyline.
The trailer portrays the struggle of the central character, played by Saugat Malla (Gorkhe), as he attempts to go viral on social media through risky and unusual acts. The film pairs Saugat opposite actress Srishti Shrestha.
According to the trailer, Saugat’s character dreams of becoming a star like action icon Shiv Shrestha. In pursuit of fame and views—especially on TikTok—he engages in dangerous stunts that make him popular online. However, when faced with real-life consequences, the story delves into the conflict between reel life and real life. The film satirically questions the growing obsession with going viral in contemporary Nepali society.
Directed by Nigam Shrestha, who previously helmed ‘Chhadke’, ‘Laalpurja’ and ‘Chhadke 2’, the film addresses a highly relevant social issue. The director has expressed confidence that audiences will relate strongly to the story and appreciate the film.
Produced under the banners of AK Brother Company, The GMI Academy and Nirvana Film School, the film features performances by Buddhi Tamang, Laxmi Giri, Rajaram Paudel, Rishi Dhamala, Ravi Bhujel and Miss Pavi, alongside the lead pair.
The producers are Amit Shrestha, Vishal Tamrakar, Mahesh Lamichhane and Kebal Jung Kunwar, with Nirvana Film School, Bhuvan Adhikari and Nikhil Paudel as co-producers.
Cinematographed by Amar Maharjan, ‘Viral Gorkhe’ was shot in Bhujung village of Lamjung, Gorkha and Chitwan. The film is distributed by Sunil Manandhar, with action direction by Shree Shrestha and editing by Bande Prasad, Ravi Chaudhary and Bhim Bishwakarma.
