Kathmandu – The much-anticipated Nepali comedy film ‘Gobar Ganesh’, starring and directed by popular comedian Marichman Shrestha (Balchi Dhurbe), is capturing the attention of audiences. The film’s trailer and its song ‘O Hello Hi Hi’ have amassed millions of views on YouTube shortly after their release, winning over viewers’ hearts.

Released on OSR Digital’s YouTube channel, the trailer creatively portrays the struggles of a village youth after arriving in Kathmandu, alongside themes of family bonds and friendship. The emotional connection between mother and son and the harsh realities of city life have moved many viewers.

The song ‘O Hello Hi Hi’, featuring vocals by Marichman Shrestha and Yearsa Shivakoti, has become highly popular on TikTok and YouTube, with its lively dance beats engaging audiences.

Both the trailer and song have crossed the million-view mark on YouTube, reflecting the growing anticipation for the film. Audience comments praise the storyline and performances. One viewer noted,

“Watching the trailer touched my heart; it reflects the story of every youth struggling after moving from village to city.”

Another comment read,

Produced under Balchi Dhurbe Films, the film stars Marichman Shrestha and Yearsa Shivakoti, alongside Vinod Nyaupane, Padam Tamang, Nirmal Sharma, Laxminath Timalsena, Santosh Baniya, Sandeep Lama, Maotse Gurung, Sitadevi Timalsina, Pujan Ghimire (Puku), Buddhi Tamang, Vishal Pahadi, Ramesh Budhathoki, and Swastika Lamichhane.

Marichman Shrestha also wrote and directed the film, marking his feature film directorial debut. He previously gained popularity with ‘Meri Bassai’ and later directed successful telefilms ‘Halka Ramailo’ and ‘Juthe’.

Cinematography is by Shivram Shrestha, and editing by Bipin Mall. The film is set to release in theaters across Nepal on Magh 1 (Maghe Sankranti) and will be distributed locally by Shree Backtes Entertainment.
