Film Development Board Forms 15 Departmental Committees, Members Receive Official Letters

Kathmandu – The Film Development Board has formed 15 departmental committees to streamline policy implementation and operational activities. On Friday, committee members and coordinators were formally handed their letters of appointment.

Board Chairman Dinesh DC distributed the letters and emphasized the importance of the committees’ role. He said,

“Filmmakers are the backbone of the Nepali film industry. It is the Board’s primary duty to honor and protect their creativity, labor, and dedication.”

The newly formed committees include: Scholarship Selection Committee, Box Office System Implementation and Monitoring Committee, International Promotion Committee, Financial Assistance Recommendation Committee, Women Filmmakers Empowerment Committee, Film Screening Monitoring Committee, Story Bank Evaluation Committee, Regional Film Evaluation Committee, Procedural Drafting Committee, Cinema House Promotion and Evaluation Committee, Publication and Publicity Committee, Film Digitization Recommendation Committee, Indigenous Language Film Promotion Committee, Cinematography Insurance Implementation Committee, and Filmmaker Welfare Fund Management Committee.

With the distribution of letters, these committees will officially commence operations. The Board expressed confidence that the committees will contribute effectively to policy making, promotion, protection, and welfare programs in the Nepali film sector.

The event saw active participation from Board members, committee coordinators, and members.
