The trailer of the Nepali film ‘Bigul’, based on social realities, political distortions, and the public’s voice against injustice, was released on Sunday.

Directed by Ramesh Koirala, the nearly three-minute-long trailer portrays political power struggles, social justice issues, family conflicts, generational differences in ideology, responsibility, and the manipulation of ordinary citizens by political leadership.

Centered on the clash between a new generation raising its voice against repeated political betrayal and entrenched leadership, Bigul signals a strong political statement. In the context of the upcoming general election, the film’s themes are expected to guide the public toward choosing responsible leadership.

Actors Benisha Hamal, Naren Khadka, and Binod Nyaupane are seen effectively conveying the emotions and concerns of today’s youth in the trailer.

The film is written and produced by Dinesh Koirala, presented by Kalpana Paudel, with Suryakant Koirala and Mahesh Koirala as co-producers. The cast includes Benisha Hamal, Naren Khadka, Binod Nyaupane, Saroj Khanal, Ramesh Budhathoki, Neer Shah, Hemant Budhathoki, Shishir Wangdel, J.N. Ghimire, Geeta Adhikari, and Manshree Sharma, while Rabindra Khadka appears in a special role. Newcomer Meera Pandit makes her acting debut with this film.

Scheduled for nationwide release from January 23, Bigul has been cinematographed by Shiva Dhakal and edited by Tara Thapa ‘Kimbhe’. The film’s music features compositions by Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwaprakash Sharma, Arjun Pokharel, and Manoj Chaulagain.

Following the release of its first-look poster, teaser, and songs, Bigul has generated considerable buzz. Director Koirala believes the film will not only entertain audiences but also inspire greater social and political awareness among Nepalis.
