Kathmandu: The trailer of Nepali film ‘Gobar Ganesh’ has reached the number one spot on YouTube Trending. Released on Friday, the trailer climbed to the top position within just two days.
The trailer highlights the emotional bond between a mother and her son, along with the son’s struggles in the city. It has garnered over 2.1 million views in two days, receiving overwhelmingly positive responses from viewers.
With more than 65,000 likes and over 1,200 comments, audiences have praised the story and expressed strong expectations for the film. The presence of a comedic flavor has further increased the trailer’s appeal.
It has been a long time since a Nepali film trailer topped YouTube Trending, reflecting the strong anticipation surrounding ‘Gobar Ganesh’.
“We are deeply encouraged by the love shown by the audience,” said director Marichman Shrestha (Balchhi Dhurbe), adding that the film’s story, rooted in the lives of ordinary Nepalis, will strongly resonate with viewers.
Produced under the banner of Balchhi Dhurbe Films, ‘Gobar Ganesh’ is set for release on Magh 1. The film features Balchhi Dhurbe, Barsha Shiwakoti, Binod Neupane, Padam Tamang, Buddhi Tamang, Swastika Lamichhane, among others. It is edited by Bipin Mall, with cinematography by Shivaram Shrestha and background score by Yogesh Kaji Shah.
