Kathmandu — Ranveer Singh starrer Dhruandhar has set the record as the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. Previously, the top-grossing records in Hindi cinema were often held by dubbed versions of South Indian films.

Since 2017, the Hindi version of Baahubali: The Conclusion held the record, later surpassed by Pushpa 2. Films like Pathaan, Gadar 2, Jawan, and Stree 2 saw box office success, but their net collections were relatively lower due to reduced taxes.

On Wednesday, history was rewritten. Dhruandhar earned ₹4.25 crore on its fifth Tuesday at the Indian box office, making Aditya Dhar’s film the highest-grossing Hindi film ever.

In just 33 days, the film has earned ₹741 crore net (₹893 crore gross) in India, surpassing Pushpa 2’s ₹738 crore net (₹892 crore gross). Dhruandhar is expected to earn ₹750 crore net by the sixth week, with total net collections possibly reaching ₹775 crore. Achieving ₹800 crore net appears challenging.

Post-COVID, Dhruandhar also holds the title of the most successful theatrical release, with 3.25 crore tickets sold so far.
