Director Naresh Poudyal is set to helm a new film titled ‘Silsila’, confirming his involvement in the project.
Poudyal, known for directing popular films such as ‘Chunauti,’ ‘Hero,’ ‘Dhadkan,’ ‘Abhimanyu,’ and ‘Deepshikha,’ will lead this project under the banner of Supreme Films. The film’s producer is Surya Shrestha.
Based on a romantic storyline, the film is currently in the song recording phase. It will feature three songs with music by Yogesh Kaji Shah and lyrics by Ramesh Jung Bista, as per Poudyal.
The film is scheduled to go on floors on Magh 21 (January 31), coinciding with the Basant Panchami festival. Casting is currently underway, and the director has hinted at a blend of new and experienced actors in the lineup.
Interestingly, a film with the same title was made 25 years ago, starring Biraj Bhatt and Rekha Thapa in lead roles. It was a massive success at the time, especially for its iconic song, ‘Sagarsari Chokho Maya’, which gained immense popularity.
Only time will reveal how the new ‘Silsila’ fares once it hits the screens.
