As its release date approaches, promotional activities for the Nepali film Bigul have intensified. Directed by Ramesh Koirala, the film is set for nationwide release on January 22. Based on themes closely linked to Nepal’s contemporary political landscape, Bigul has already drawn attention through its first-look poster, teaser and trailer. Amid this buzz, the production team has concluded audience interaction programs across eastern Nepal.

Director Ramesh Koirala, along with story writer and producer Dinesh Koirala, visited Biratnagar, Itahari, Dharan, Damak, Birtamod, Hetauda and Chitwan to meet audiences in person. During the week-long outreach tour, they gathered feedback and interest from viewers while also inviting them to watch the film. The film highlights issues such as current politics, public concerns, rights, social justice and family responsibilities, with support from social organizations including JCI during its promotion.

During the tour, the team also released the folk-based song Banko Koili Banai Ma Ramayo on Friday. The song features actors Yashraj Gachar and Richa Thapa, with vocals by Manish Chaudhary and Shantishree Pariyar, lyrics and music by Manoj Chaulagain, and choreography by Kamal Rai.

Producer Dinesh Koirala said the team is preparing to begin similar audience interaction programs in central and western Nepal. Portrayed as a film that reflects the lives of ordinary people while envisioning a prosperous Nepal, Bigul stars Benisha Hamal, Naren Khadka, Ramesh Budhathoki, Neer Shah, Saroj Khanal, Hemant Budhathoki, Shishir Wangdel, Binod Naupane, JN Ghimire, Geeta Adhikari, Meera Pandit and Manashree Sharma, with veteran actor Rabindra Khadka in a special role.

Produced under the Magnolia Group banner, the film has Mahesh Koirala and Suryakant Koirala as co-producers. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Pradeep Bhardwaj and Maunata Shrestha. Distributed by Kafia Films and Shree Banquets Entertainment, Bigul is shot by cinematographer Shiva Dhakal, with choreography by Kamal Rai and Kabiraj Gahatraj, action direction by NV Maharjan, music by Bishwoprakash Sharma, Arjun Pokharel and Manoj Chaulagain, and editing by Tara Thapa ‘Kimbhe’.
