Nepali-origin singer and actor Prashant Tamang has passed away at the age of 42, leaving fans and well-wishers in shock. He died on Sunday in Delhi due to a cardiac arrest.
The Indian Idol Season 3 winner is survived by his wife, Geeta Thapa Magar (Martha), and a daughter. Martha appealed to the public, saying, “Remember him for the person he was, not for the cause of his death. He was a great soul and a remarkable human being.”
She added, “It was a natural death. He was asleep when he passed away. Thank you to everyone around the world for their love and support.”
Prashant’s funeral procession took place today in Darjeeling, where fans paid their respects by laying flowers. The body was transported from Delhi to Darjeeling with assistance from the GTA government, and the final rites are scheduled for later today.
