The trailer of the film Mirmire has drawn attention for the performance of a child actor seen alongside actor Dayahang Rai. The young actress appears in the role of Dayahang’s daughter.
The child artist is Shaisa Gauchan, who portrays a daughter growing up without her mother. The trailer depicts her as a girl raised solely by her father after her mother leaves at an early age, highlighting her emotional journey with sensitivity.
Shaisa’s natural portrayal of a child dealing with the absence of a mother has been well received by audiences. Hailing from Pokhara, Mirmire is not her film debut. She has previously appeared in brief roles in Mahabhoj and Baristha Balram.
Writer-director Yam Sherpa said that Shaisa’s prior experience of working with Dayahang Rai made the collaboration smoother in Mirmire. “Since Shaisa had already worked with Dayahang earlier, it became easier for her to adjust. Otherwise, it might have been challenging at the beginning,” he said.
Sherpa expressed confidence that Shaisa’s performance will be appreciated by audiences of all age groups.
Written and directed by Yam Sherpa, Mirmire is set to release from Magh 1. Presented by Yarsa Films, the cast includes Dayahang Rai, Prakash Saput, Srijana Ninglekhu, Mao Tse Gurung, Chhulthim Gurung, Bholaraj Sapkota, Bimal Yadav, Shaisa Gauchan, Divisha Pant, Chirag Shrestha and Namanraj Gajurel.
