Nepali short film The Change (Paribartan) and documentary Tantric Dance have been honored at the Sixth Bogura International Film Festival held in Bogura, Bangladesh.
The festival featured 74 films from 32 countries. Nepal was represented by three short films and one documentary in the international competition section.
Directed by lyricist and media professional Dabbu Kshetri, The Change was selected in the International Short Indoor category and received an Honorable Mention Award. Director Kshetri, actor Prabin Bhusal, actress and singer Sarita Bharti, and makeup artist Bina Rana Magar represented Nepal at the festival. The award was received during the closing ceremony by Kshetri, Bhusal, and Bharti.
The film stars Prabin Bhusal and Sarita Bharti in lead roles, alongside Kamala Joshi, Madhav Raj Kharel, Sharmila Sharma, and Suraj Adhikari.
Similarly, documentary Tantric Dance, directed by KP Pathak, was also awarded an Honorable Mention in the international category. The documentary is based on the traditional Kartik Naach and was premiered in Bangladesh during the festival’s opening ceremony.
Organized by the Pundranagar Film Society Bogura, the three-day festival was held at the Madhuvan Cine Complex. The event concluded on Saturday night with an award distribution ceremony.
The jury panel included Santosh Subedi, chairman of the Nepal International Cultural Film Festival, along with filmmakers and industry professionals from Bangladesh and other countries. According to organizers, the Bogura International Film Festival is the second-largest international film festival in Bangladesh.
