Kathmandu — Popular singer and rapper Kushal Pokhrel has released a new song titled ‘Phone Nagar’ for the Nepali film ‘Ramitako Pirati’. Directed by Sudipta, the song was unveiled for the first time during a live concert held in Butwal on Magh 1.
The concert was organized as part of the promotional campaign for the film, which is set to release on Magh 23. Pokhrel performed the song live before the official music video was screened, receiving an enthusiastic response from an audience of over 5,000 people.
Kushal Pokhrel himself has written and sung the song. Music production was handled by Churchil Bhusal, while mixing and mastering were done by Kepas. The music video features Kushal Pokhrel and Aana Sharma, directed, shot, and edited by Jholeism, with choreography by Jesty.
Speaking about the collaboration, Pokhrel said he agreed to the project after connecting creatively with the director and team. The song reflects a breakup story from a female perspective, capturing the emotional aftermath of a failed relationship.
The film Ramitako Pirati revolves around the character Ramita, played by Aana Sharma, and explores emotional journeys after a breakup. The film also marks Sameer Shrestha’s acting debut. The cast includes Dhiraj Magar, Binay Shrestha, Gaumaya Gurung, Pashupati Rai, Renu Yogit, Giyana, and Thinley Lama.
Another song from the film, ‘Timi Bhaye Kafi’, has recently gone viral on TikTok, with millions of videos created using the track. The song’s “Adds Your Color” trend has become especially popular among young users.
The film features music by Sushant KC, Sameer Shrestha, Mahesh Kafle, Asmita Adhikari, and Kushal Pokhrel. Cinematography is by Shishir Bishankhe, editing by Sunil Shivakoti, and choreography by Kritika Baral. The film will be distributed in the Kathmandu Valley by Rich Entertainment and Apple Entertainment, while FD Company will handle distribution outside the valley.
