Kathmandu — The psychological thriller film ‘The Blue Light’ is set for a nationwide release on Magh 16. The film features some of Nepal’s most experienced and popular actors in leading roles.
Benisha Hamal plays the main character ‘Maya,’ having already impressed audiences with her performance in ‘Blind Rocks.’ Another lead, Mahesh Tripathi, has established his acting credentials through ‘Halkara’ and is currently seen in the film ‘Paran.’
Arpan Thapa, one of Nepal’s top-tier actors, takes on a mysterious role, while Ayushman Desharaj Joshi, Srishti Shrestha, Suraksha Itani, Grisama Kutuwal, and Sahara Sharma also appear in significant roles.
The film is directed by Baliram Chauhan, marking his directorial debut, although he has extensive experience as a chief editor and was part of the direction team for ‘Balidan.’
The recently released trailer has garnered positive reactions from viewers. It showcases a mysterious and dark atmosphere, exploring themes of love, betrayal, and revenge. Arpan Thapa’s enigmatic character and interrogation scenes add suspense and intrigue.
According to Chauhan, the storyline is not entirely new, but its presentation is unique. He says:
“The story itself is not new, but we have presented it in a fresh style. The emotions and sensitivities of the characters provide audiences with a distinct experience.”
The film is co-produced by Bholanath Katwal and Raman Grey, with Narendra Mainali and Benisha Hamal as executive producers, and is presented by Scyphl Pictures.
