Actress Suhana Thapa has been cast in the lead role of Gaunthali in the upcoming film Paral Ko Aago, based on the celebrated short story by Guru Prasad Mainali.
This will be Thapa’s first project outside her home production. She expressed her excitement, calling it an honor to work on such a timeless masterpiece.
Paral Ko Aago is one of the stories in Mainali’s renowned collection, Naaso.
The rights for the film were officially granted by Mainali’s son a few days ago.
The film will be directed by Laxman Sunar. However, the casting for the primary male character, Chame, has not yet been finalized.

Previously, filmmaker Pratap Subba adapted the same story into a black-and-white film.
Producer Sushil Pokharel has announced that the new Paral Ko Aago will release during next year’s Dashain festival.
He also assured that the film will remain true to the essence of the original story while offering a fresh take on its narrative.
The story of Paral Ko Aago revolves around the domestic conflicts between a couple, Chame and Gaunthali.
