Kathmandu. The psychological thriller ‘The Blue Light’ is set to release nationwide from Magh 16. Featuring a strong star cast and experienced actors, the film promises audiences a distinct experience, diverging from traditional Nepali cinema.
The movie stars Benisha Hamal, Srishti Shrestha, Arpan Thapa, Mahesh Tripathi, and Ayushman Desraj Joshi.
Benisha Hamal is known for her exceptional acting skills in the Nepali film industry. Whether portraying a modern urban character or a simple village girl, she adapts seamlessly. Excited about The Blue Light, Benisha is confident that audiences will appreciate the film. She is also the executive producer and highlights the film’s unique theme and presentation as its main attraction.
Srishti Shrestha, previously known for romantic and glamorous roles, takes on her first negative role in The Blue Light. She emphasizes that the film’s antagonist role is deeper and more complex than her past thriller work, like 11:55.
“Playing complex and negative characters teaches more than always appearing positive and perfect,” she said.
Actor Arpan Thapa describes The Blue Light as a rare film in Nepali cinema, requiring a visionary director like Baliram Chauhan.
“Many films are made, but one like The Blue Light doesn’t come often. The director’s vision is equally important. After watching the film, audiences will understand much more.”
Thapa, also a director and writer, notes that character development relies not only on acting but on writing, direction, and the entire production team.
Alongside the main cast, child actors Grishma Katuwal and Sahara Sharma also appear. The Blue Light marks Baliram Chauhan’s directorial debut. Presented by Skyfall Pictures, the film is co-produced by Bholanath Katuwal and Raman Grey, with executive producer Benisha Hamal and cinematographer Narendra Mainali. Aakash Ukheda is chief assistant director, Raleesha Shrestha production designer, and Dilip Pant production controller.
