The second schedule of Balidan, directed and produced by Santosh Sen, has commenced in Rangeli, Morang.

Following a break for Dashain, Tihar, and Chhath festivals, the team has resumed production with plans to complete the film’s shooting in this phase.

Both Nepali and Indian technical teams are working diligently on the shoot.

Earlier, a 30-member team, led by South Indian action director Stunner Sam, spent around 20 days in Itahari filming action sequences using advanced technology. It is reported that over NPR 15 million was spent on these scenes.

The story of Balidan revolves around the struggle against exploitation, injustice, and societal leaders on Nepal’s sovereign soil.

The film features Samir Bhatt, Saugat Malla, Arpan Thapa, Divya Dev, and Richa Sharma in lead roles. While the production team has hinted at new cast members joining, their identities have not yet been revealed.

Technical equipment for the film was sourced from India. Producer Santosh Sen has described Balidan as his “dream project.” The final schedule of the shoot will be handled by cinematographer Mahesh Paudel, replacing Sanjay Lama, who had worked on earlier schedules but is now engaged in another project.

The distribution of Balidan will be managed by Govinda Shahi’s Kafia Films in Kathmandu Valley and Kuber Cine Distribution in other regions. The film is anticipated to be one of the most awaited projects of the coming year.
