Kathmandu — One of today’s most celebrated singers, Arijit Singh, surprised fans on January 27 with a post on Instagram announcing his retirement from playback singing. While he did not clarify whether he will continue working in the music world in other capacities, he confirmed that he is stepping back from playback performances.
Though undeniably wealthy and globally renowned, Arijit is equally known for his simple, grounded lifestyle. Unlike many film and music industry stars who settle in Mumbai, he prefers to return to his village — Jiaganj in Murshidabad, West Bengal after work.
Despite owning crores of rupees worth of assets, Arijit chooses to live away from glamour. A close friend, Indradeep Das Gupta, told Times of India that the singer has never been overly influenced by the glittering world of fame and prefers peaceful rural life. Arijit sends his children to a local village school rather than elite international institutions, reinforcing his belief in staying connected to his roots. He has even built a music studio at home.
According to Siasat.com, Arijit Singh’s net worth is estimated at approximately ₹414 crore (Indian Rupees).
Despite his immense success and wealth, Arijit Singh continues to choose simplicity and grounded living over lavishness.
