The much-anticipated Nepali romantic film ‘Kumari,’ set for release on Magh 23, has intensified its promotional campaign with large-scale public events. Following a trailer launch in Kathmandu’s Bhrikutimandap attended by over 10,000 people, the film team has now embarked on a promotional tour across eastern Nepal.

As part of the campaign, a grand “Kumari Live Musical Concert” was held in Madhumalla Bazaar, Morang. The event, organized at the premises of Bhagwati Secondary School, drew an enthusiastic crowd of around 2,000 spectators.

During the concert, lead actors Abhishek Khadka and Aakriti Rajbhandari performed a live dance to the hit song ‘Doko Bunne,’ with the audience joining in the excitement. Playback singer Kehar Singh Limbu also performed popular tracks including Doko Bunne, Timi Bina, and Kata Chhau, captivating the crowd. Despite the cold weather, audiences stayed at the venue until 11 PM.

Meanwhile, actor Abhishek Khadka returned to his hometown Birtamod in Jhapa on Saturday afternoon. Accompanied by co-star Aakriti, he received a warm welcome from family members and neighbors. The reunion with his father after a long time reportedly turned emotional, with both debut actors visibly moved.

Earlier, the film’s trailer was unveiled before a crowd of over 10,000 at Bhrikutimandap. Director Dinesh Raut expressed excitement over the positive response.

“The audience’s reaction has given us confidence that we will receive the same support in cinemas,” he said.

Produced by Mahendra Adhikari under the Binish Entertainment banner, Kumari explores themes of love, struggle, and family conflict. The film stars Abhishek Khadka and Aakriti Rajbhandari in lead roles.

Songs from the film — ‘Doko Bunne,’ ‘Kata Chhau Mero Phool,’ and ‘Timi Bina’ — have already become popular. Notably, ‘Doko Bunne’ has surpassed 8.5 million views on YouTube.

The film also features performances by Ghanshyam Joshi, Sunita Shrestha, and Aakanksha Karki among others. Written by Bikash Subedi, the film’s cinematography is by Susan Prajapati and editing by Suprim Parajuli. Poster and publicity design is handled by Royal Bhimsen, with Kedar Bhusal serving as executive producer.
