The second edition of a one-day basic workshop on film story writing, organized by Nepal Film Campus with support from the Film Development Board Nepal, was successfully completed on Magh 17.
Held at the Nepal Film Campus in Pingalasthan, Gaushala, Kathmandu, the workshop saw the active participation of 25 trainees interested in film story writing. According to the organizers, the primary objective was to provide beginners with practical knowledge of narrative structure, fundamental storytelling principles, and the writing process in cinema.
The workshop was led by Keshav Pandey, a postgraduate from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and currently Head of the Direction and Screenwriting Department at Nepal Film Campus.
Screenwriter and journalist Samipyaraj Timilsina also conducted a special session titled “Storytelling in Nepali Cinema.”
Participants received both theoretical and practical training on story science, core narrative elements, character development, structure, and the screenwriting process. Attendees described the workshop as useful, inspiring, and highly educational.
Organizers have announced that the third edition of the film story writing workshop will be held on Falgun 16.
