The upcoming Nepali feature film “Bigul”, scheduled for nationwide release from Falgun 1, organized a press conference in Kathmandu on Thursday, unveiling key details about the film. During the event, Nepal Jaycees officially announced its promotional collaboration with the film.

A cooperation agreement was signed between producer Dinesh Koirala and Nepal Jaycees National President Jeevan Karki. Producer Koirala stated that the organization’s support during the recent out-of-valley promotional campaign provided the team with renewed motivation. Koirala, who is also the story writer of Bigul, is a former president of Nepal Jaycees.

Jaycees President Jeevan Karki explained that the collaboration was driven by the need to bring socially relevant films like Bigul—which reflects contemporary Nepali society, family structures, politics, and youth realities—to a wider audience. He extended best wishes for the film’s success and emphasized the importance of producing more original, message-driven cinema.

Director Ramesh Koirala described Bigul as a story of marginalized people that closely mirrors Nepal’s current political landscape, asserting that the film deserves to be watched by every citizen. Veteran actor Neer Shah expressed pride in being part of a rare film rooted in present-day social realities.

Actress Benisha Hamal said she portrayed a challenging role and highlighted the film’s patriotic theme, while actor Naren Khadka revealed that he represents youth power in the film and studied young political leaders to prepare for his role.

Produced under the Magnolia Group banner with Kalpana Paudel as presenter, Bigul features an ensemble cast including Benisha Hamal, Naren Khadka, Neer Shah, Saroj Khanal, Shishir Bangdel, and newcomer Meera Pandit. The film carries a strong narrative of suppressed voices, youth struggles, and the vision of a progressive, youth-led Nepal.
