According to box office data released Monday by the Film Development Board, the Nepali film A Bata Aama earned Rs 48.09 million gross within its first nine days of release (up to Magh 24). Updated figures as of Sunday show the film’s total earnings have reached approximately Rs 52 million gross.

The film collected over Rs 10 million in a single day last Saturday, signaling strong box office momentum.

Made on a reported budget of around Rs 20 million including promotion, the film still needs about Rs 10 million more in gross earnings to move into profit. Industry benchmarks suggest it must reach roughly Rs 65 million gross to be officially classified as a “hit.” Given its current pace, that target appears achievable. Trade analysts now project the film could potentially cross Rs 100 million if its strong second-week performance continues.

The film’s success has also boosted actor Pal Shah’s star power. This marks his second film this year to surpass Rs 50 million at the box office. His previous release, Mohar, had also crossed the same milestone earlier in the year. As a result, 2082 BS is shaping up to be a highly successful year for the actor, with expectations that his demand and remuneration will increase.

Directed by Chandra Pant, the film also stars Bipana Thapa, Pradeep Rawat (known as the “Ghajini” villain), Saigrace Pokharel, Usha Upreti, Simran Pant, and Rachana Gautam. The emotional drama centers on the relationship between a mother and her son. Producers include Krishna Prasad Subedi, Omkar Pant, Prakashjang Kunwar, Dhruva Prasad Neupane, and Kshitij Dhungana.
