Kathmandu – The Film Development Board (FDB) has launched a week-long horse riding training program aimed at enhancing the skills of Nepali film artists under the initiative ‘Film Workers’ Skill Enhancement Year–2082.’
Recognizing horse riding as an essential skill for historical, mythological, action, and adventure films, the Board organized the training to ensure artists and stunt performers become safer, more disciplined, and more professional in their craft.
Prominent actors including Bijay Baral, Nazir Hussain, Kabita Nepali, Bishal Pahadi,Avon Upreti, Dinesh Khadka, Sarita Bharti, Arun Bahadur Syangtan (Lama), Shridev Bhattarai, and Gopal Dhakal (Chhande) are actively participating in the program.
The training is being conducted at White House Agro Villa in Nikosera, Bhaktapur, under the guidance of trainer Suresh Thakuri and his team. Participants are receiving hands-on practice, coordination techniques with horses, safety protocols, and foundational riding skills.
The Board expressed confidence that such skill-based programs will improve production quality in the Nepali film industry while enhancing safety, professionalism, and self-reliance among artists and technicians.
Additionally, the Film Development Board has announced plans to conduct a swimming training program for on-screen artists next week.
