Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has reportedly received a death threat on Tuesday. The threat came via a WhatsApp voice note, in which the sender demanded millions of rupees as ransom.
According to sources, Mumbai Police have immediately tightened security outside Singh’s Bandra residence. Additional personnel have been deployed, and the movement of people around the area is being closely monitored.
The incident comes shortly after film director Rohit Shetty’s Mumbai residence was targeted in a shooting on January 31, prompting the police to be on high alert. Preliminary investigations indicate that the voice note claimed the sender’s involvement in “serious criminal activity” and warned of severe consequences if the demanded amount is not paid.
The voice note has been sent for forensic analysis, and Mumbai Police’s Cyber Cell and Crime Branch are jointly tracing the WhatsApp number and voice sample to locate the suspect. Initial findings suggest that the threat may be linked to a criminal gang.
Ranveer Singh is currently in the spotlight for his recent film ‘Dhurandhar’, which has achieved box office success since its release. In the film, he portrays a character who confronts challenges and stands against injustice. His performance, physical expressions, and dialogue delivery have been widely praised by audiences and critics alike.
Following the success of ‘Dhurandhar,’ attention is now shifting towards ‘Dhurandhar 2’. The production team is planning a grand-scale sequel, with Singh’s character explored in greater depth. Action sequences and emotional drama are expected to surpass the first film.
Mumbai Police have assured that measures are in place to ensure Singh’s safety and that the suspect will be apprehended soon.
