Lalitpur – The upcoming political drama film ‘Bigul’ received a warm and positive response at its premiere on Tuesday evening at Labim Hall, Lalitpur. The event was attended by elected representatives, political analysts, journalists, and the film’s cast and crew.
Lalitpur Mayor Chiribabu Maharjan praised the film wholeheartedly, calling it one of the best films he has seen so far. He said, “I almost shed tears while watching the film. It’s very well-made, contemporary, and truly touches the hearts of the people. Rarely does a film represent the public in such a way.”
Chiribabu shared his own political experiences, adding, “I was deeply moved. During the first elections, I too had to go underground. The film’s presentation is extremely poignant, catchy, and unlike anything I have seen before.”
He also noted that the upcoming elections are entering a transformative phase and welcomed young candidates receiving tickets from the Congress as a positive sign. He took a subtle dig at senior leader Balen Shah of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, saying, “The people trusted me for five years. Leaving after three and a half years would have disappointed them. Completing the full term would have been better.”
Actor Madan Krishna Shrestha also lauded the film, saying, “The film greatly contributes to the Genz movement. It reflects contemporary issues and the current political context. It’s an engaging and spirited film that viewers will enjoy.”
Other notable attendees included former Secretary Bhim Upadhyay, senior journalist Kishor Nepal, political analyst Mumarām Khanal, and actors Pushpa Khadka and Savir Shrestha. The film’s producers Dinesh Koirala, director Ramesh Koirala, and actors Benisha Hamal, Naren Khadka, Vinod Nyaupane, among others, were also present.
‘Bigul’, with its political narrative, is scheduled for theatrical release from 1st Falgun and is currently in final preparations for its public screening.
