Kathmandu — Salon–Salina Films is set to produce a new Nepali film, with Australian-based A to Z Cleaning Suppliers backing the project through presenter Krishna Thapa. The production team said the film’s official title will be announced in the coming days.

The film will be written and directed by Shovit Basnet. Nabin Ghayal will serve as executive producer, while Himal Bhandari joins as co-producer. Cinematography will be handled by Saurabh Lama, and action direction by Himal KC, who is making a return to filmmaking after his recent work on Pitambar.

According to the producers, 60 percent of the film will be shot in Australia, with the remaining 40 percent scheduled in Jumla, Nepal. Casting and the full technical team are expected to be finalised shortly.

Director Basnet is also preparing to take the ‘Comedy Darbar’ team on a month-long tour of Australia starting March 20. Filming for the new project will begin immediately after the tour. Some actors from the Australia-shot film PR are expected to reprise roles. The film will feature two male and two female leads, including one popular actor and one popular actress, Basnet said.
