Kathmandu — A new Nepali feature film, Maya Bhanekai Yasto Hola, has been officially announced, featuring actor Dil Shrestha alongside three former Miss Nepal titleholders.
The film marks the directorial comeback of actress-turned-director Rekha Thapa after nearly eight years. Produced under the banner of Diya & Amu Films, the project brings together veteran actor Madan Krishna Shrestha and former Miss Nepals Srishti Shrestha, Namrata Shrestha and Miss Nepal International Niti Shah in lead roles.
Unveiled during a press event on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri, the first-look posters hint at themes of love, relationships, generational bonds and emotional responsibility. The production team said filming will begin in the second week of Falgun, with plans for a Teej festival release next year.
Thapa said the film draws inspiration from real-life social experiences, aiming to present love in its many forms — from youthful romance to the care and duty associated with old age.
