Second Teaser of ‘Laalimaa’ Released

Film Based on Lives of 3,000 Sex Workers to Release on February 29

Kathmandu: The second teaser of the upcoming film ‘Laalimaa’, set to release on February 29, was unveiled on Sunday.

The teaser, centered on lead actress Roshni Karki, portrays the life experiences and struggles of 3,000 sex workers.

In the roughly one-minute teaser, Roshni is joined by actresses Sushma Niraula and Usha Rajak, along with actor Jeevan Bhattarai. Scenes show Roshni receiving support from Sushma and Usha during challenging moments. Actors Shishir Wangdel and Sabin Kattel are also featured.

A key highlight of the teaser is the child in Roshni’s arms. While the teaser begins with her life as a sex worker, it ends with her leaving the city with the child, signaling the complexity of 3,000 sex workers’ lives portrayed in the film.

The film is written and directed by Roshan Miraj, produced under Faith Aastha, with executive producer Reena Lama. National Cine Group Nepal will handle distribution.
