Kathmandu. Nepali star actor Anmol KC’s blockbuster film Jerry on Top is set to release across India. The film will premiere on February 27, targeting Nepali communities and Nepali-speaking audiences residing in India.
The film will screen in cities including Darjeeling, Sikkim, Dehradun, Delhi, Kalimpong, Siliguri, Kolkata, and other regions with significant Nepali-speaking populations. Various cinema chains in India have already opened advanced bookings.
Ahead of the release, a premiere show will be held in Gangtok on February 26. Lead actors Anmol KC, Bhuwan KC, Jasita Gurung, along with the film’s cast and crew, will attend the event. Renowned singer Kaliprasad Baskota will perform live, according to producer Saroj Neupane. The film unit is currently in Sikkim.
Directed by Suyog Gurung, ‘Jerry on Top’ is an adventure story based on Mount Everest climbing and explores themes of love, relationships, and the emotional journey of the youth.
The production team expects that releasing the film simultaneously in multiple Indian cities will significantly expand Nepali cinema’s international market. The film, which previously released across Nepal and over a dozen countries in late Ashoj, has already grossed over NPR 17 crore worldwide. Alongside Anmol KC, Aanchal Sharma, Jasita Gurung, Kedar Ghimire, Bhuvan KC, and Usha Khadgi play lead roles. The India release is managed by Asli Production.
