Kathmandu – A new female-centric Nepali film titled “Tika (Stateless Soul)” has been announced on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
The film will be presented by Bhavishya Khadka Films Pvt. Ltd. in collaboration with Third Eye Arts Pvt. Ltd., with Shankar Karki directing the project.
The theme poster released alongside the announcement features the title “Tika” written in white letters inside a red circle, symbolizing struggle, courage and moral integrity.
According to the filmmakers, the movie will explore themes of women’s struggles, dignity, identity and self-reliance in Nepali society.
Produced by Bhavishya Khadka, known for the hit film “Jerry on Top,” the cast includes actors Mahesh Tripathi, Richa Sharma, and Barsha Siwakoti in lead roles. Comedian Nirmal Sharma and child actor Ayushi Dhakal are also part of the main cast.
Executive producer Tej Bikram KC said the team is currently in the process of selecting additional cast and crew members.
The story is developed by Chandan Jha and director Shankar Karki, while the screenplay is written by Ram Kumar Shrestha.
KC said the film aims to deliver both entertainment and a strong social message, adding that the production team hopes to provide audiences with a unique cinematic experience.
Filming will begin after the full cast and crew are finalized, and the official release date will be announced at the same time, the producers said.
