Bhaktapur — The Bhaktapur Film Festival, which began on Chaitra 6, has successfully concluded after showcasing 24 films across various genres, offering audiences a diverse cinematic experience.
The festival concluded with the screening of the documentary “Mother Rebeka” directed by Sandesh Bhurtel. The closing ceremony, held at Nepal Vocational Academy in Bhaktapur, was attended by Deputy Mayor Rajani Joshi along with filmmakers Sujit Bidari, Praveen Karki, Sachin Ghimire, and others.
The festival had opened with the screening of “Gaun Aayeko Bato” directed by Nabin Subba, setting an enthusiastic tone for the event.
Organized by a group of young filmmakers including Kiran Kilambu, Safal Baidya, Smit Giri, Bikesh Prajapati, Saksham KC, and Praveen Takki, the festival was directed by Kiran Kilambu himself.
Films screened during the festival included “Aina Jhyal Ko Putali” by Sujit Bidari, “Song of Clouds” by Ankit Poudel, “At Another Winter” by Kiran Shrestha, and the documentary “Dhorpatan” by Rajan Kathet and Sunir Pandey, among others.
The organizers believe that the festival has played an important role in promoting alternative cinema and providing a platform for emerging filmmakers.
