The first song “Mohani Lagaune” from director Tulsi Ghimire’s much-anticipated film “Pahad” has been officially released at a press event in Kamalpokhari.
Featuring debut actress Panchami Ghimire alongside actor Arun Chhetri, the song blends melody with a strong social message. The lyrics are penned by Tulsi Ghimire, with music composed by veteran Ranjit Singh Gajmer. Vocals are delivered by Bharti Ghimire, Sakar Apte, Madan Krishna Shrestha, and Asmita Adhikari.
Adding a modern twist, actor Bipin Karki surprises audiences with a rap segment, while choreography is handled by Kaviraj Gahatraj.
According to director Ghimire, the film was carefully developed after years of selecting the right subject. He emphasized that the film combines entertainment with a meaningful message, which is also reflected in the song.
Set against a rural backdrop, the song highlights themes such as youth migration abroad, the growing emptiness of villages, and the value of rural life over urban chaos.
At the event, Film Development Board Chairman Dinesh DC praised the Ghimire family’s dedication to cinema, noting that Panchami’s debut marks a new chapter in their legacy.
The film is slated for release on April 14, 2026 (Nepali New Year 2083). It explores the socio-economic impact of migration from Nepal’s hilly regions.
The cast includes Bipin Karki, Sunil Thapa, Madan Krishna Shrestha, Renunath Yogi, Arun Chhetri, Rabindra Singh Baniya, and Uma Giri.
Produced under Bhagyaratna Films, the film features cinematography by Pramod Pradhan and music direction by Ranjit Singh Gajmer. It will be distributed in Nepal by Vaenkatesh Entertainment and internationally by Seven Seas International Films.
