Kathmandu — Renowned Nepali musician Hari Lamsal has officially stepped into filmmaking, launching the shoot of his debut film ‘Ba: Ek Yodha’ on Monday.
The project was inaugurated with a traditional ceremony at Pashupatinath Temple, marking an auspicious start to the production under the Artistic Entertainment banner.
Known for delivering numerous hit songs, Lamsal takes on both writing and directing responsibilities for the film, raising anticipation about his transition from music to cinema.
The film’s theme hints at a deeply emotional social narrative, portraying a father as a “warrior” — highlighting his sacrifices, struggles, and lifelong responsibilities for his family.
Cinematography will be handled by acclaimed cinematographer Shivaram Shrestha, known for his work in blockbuster Nepali films such as Purna Bahadurko Sarangi, Boksi Ko Ghar, and Paran.
The film is produced by Basanta Lamsal, who previously produced a film starring Bipin Karki. Tara Nath Neupane serves as the chief assistant director.
Despite the shoot already underway, the cast remains under wraps, with the production team promising a “surprise reveal.”
The release date will be announced only after the completion of filming, according to the producers.
