Nepal Box Office Report Shocks Industry! ‘Aa Bata Aama’ Crosses Rs 130 Million, Others Lag Behind

Kathmandu — The Film Development Board has released the latest official box office data up to Saturday, offering a clear picture of the performance of recent Nepali films.

According to the report, the film Laalimaa has collected Rs 529,738 in gross revenue up to Chaitra 7 (Saturday), with a total of 2,040 tickets sold. The film, directed by Miraj Roshan, revolves around the struggles and pain of a sex worker and features Roshni Adhikari in the lead role.

Meanwhile, Aa Bata Aama has completed 51 days in theatres and has earned Rs 131,092,775 in gross collections as of Saturday. Directed by Chandra Pant, the film has been watched by 503,114 viewers so far.

The long-running film has maintained steady performance, continuing to attract audiences even after several weeks in release.

Similarly, Kumari, directed by Dinesh Raut, has recorded a lifetime gross of Rs 6,625,451.

Another film, Ramitako Pirati, has collected Rs 3,084,843 in lifetime gross earnings, according to the board’s data.

The report highlights a mixed trend in the Nepali film industry, where a few films sustain long theatrical runs while others struggle to make a significant box office impact.
