Kathmandu — Filming of the Nepali film Paanch Pandav is currently underway in Jhapa, eastern Nepal, drawing attention for its big budget and ensemble cast.
Two weeks into production, actors Prashant Tamrakar and content creator Eva Giri have joined the cast, expanding the film’s scope.
Directed by Basanta Niraula, the film began shooting from Kakarbhitta on Chaitra 2.
The main cast includes Hari Bansha Acharya, Jeetu Nepal, Aryan Sigdel, Mahesh Tripathi, and Sagar Lamsal, portraying the five central characters.
Deepashree Niraula and Jeni Gurung play the female leads.
Writer Sushil Poudel clarified that despite its title, the film is not mythological but a social drama inspired by the symbolic representation of the Mahabharata’s Pandavas.
Presented by Nabin Shrestha, the film is being made without budget compromises. It is produced under the Kali Rani Films banner.
The film will feature Dolby Atmos sound design, with technical work being carried out at Music Nepal’s advanced studio.
