Kathmandu: Actor Akash Shrestha has officially joined the upcoming film “Aa Baata Aama 2”, directed by Chandra Pant. The production team confirmed his casting on Monday.
Director Pant said Shrestha was selected based on the requirements of the story and will play a significant role. Earlier, lead roles were confirmed for actor Paul Shah and actress Bipana Thapa.
Produced under Arya Entertainment, the film will feature Paul Shah, Bipana Thapa, and Akash Shrestha in key roles. Other cast members have not yet been announced.
The story of the film has been written by director Pant himself, with shooting expected to begin from Baisakh (mid-April). The first installment, “Aa Baata Aama”, was a major box office success, earning over Rs 13 crore.
In the first part, Bipana Thapa played the mother, Paul Shah the son, and Indian actor Pradeep Rawat played the father. The production team has not confirmed whether they will return for the sequel.
The film is expected to be released during Dashain, with RR Films handling distribution.
