‘Malati Mangle’ Teaser Released: Emotional Love Story of Vijay and Barsha Shows Ups and Downs

Kathmandu — The official teaser of the Nepali film Malati Mangle, set for release on Baisakh 25 (May 8), has been released. The film is produced and presented by singer Ram Krishna Dhakal and hints at an emotional rural love story.

Released via OSR Digital, the teaser portrays the journey of Vijay Baral and Barsha Raut from their meeting to marriage, highlighting themes of love, trust, and suspicion.

The teaser features an emotional promise by Vijay to Barsha, where he says that the day she sheds tears because of him, “it will be as if Mangle has died.”

However, the story takes a darker turn after marriage. In one intense scene, Vijay is seen accusing Barsha of betrayal in front of villagers and physically assaulting her, creating a strong dramatic conflict.

Actor Maksam Gaudel is also seen confronting Vijay, indicating further tension in the story. The teaser, however, also includes brief romantic moments, leaving much of the story undisclosed.

Directed by Praku Pandey, the film is produced under Rani Films in collaboration with Uni Entertainment.

The story is written by the director himself, while screenplay and dialogues are by Sanyog Guragain.

According to producer Ram Krishna Dhakal, the film is not based on the famous musical play by poet Madhav Prasad Ghimire but is a contemporary love story rooted in Nepali society.

The film stars Vijay Baral, Barsha Raut, and Maksam Gaudel in lead roles, along with Narin Thapa, Mansu Sapkota, Prakash Ghimire, Sarita Giri, Sushma Niraula, Sunil Tamang, Umesh Sunam, Shaku Shah, Suchitra Upreti, Dinesh Shahi, Rijan Pariyar, Tara Sharma, Geeta Shree, Raj Pangeini, Sushmita Gurung, and Sagar Bhattarai among others.

Executive producer is Sagar Gyawali, with co-producers including Babu Subedi, Robin Shrestha, Vedana Karmacharya, Padmavati Gurung, Swikriti Basnet, and Milan Bagdai.

Cinematography is by Mahesh Paudel, editing by Romy Mozes, color grading by Krishna Bhandari, and sound design by Dikesh Khadgi.

Lyrics are by Harka Saud, music by SD Yogi, and arrangement by Rikesh Gurung. Choreography is by Roshan Bik.

The film is distributed by RR Films.
