Kathmandu — The release date of the Nepali film Pension Patta, directed by Maotse Gurung, has been officially announced. The film will hit theatres nationwide on Bhadra 26, coinciding with the festival of Haritalika Teej.

The announcement was made on the occasion of the Nepali New Year alongside the unveiling of the film’s title poster. Director Gurung noted that the date was strategically chosen, as it also marks the birthday of lead actor Dayahang Rai and currently has no major competing releases.

“We selected this date in consultation with distributors and the production team. We are confident about strong box office performance,” Gurung said.

The film features a strong ensemble cast including Dayahang Rai, Sunil Thapa, Pashupati Rai, Buddhi Tamang, Wilson Bikram Rai, and Lunibha Tuladhar.

Newcomers Bishwas Gurung and Maya Gurung are making their debut through this film.

Although the title suggests a story about a retired Lahure, the film actually explores the transformation of a greedy young man into a generous individual, according to the director.

Produced under Maotse Gurung Films, the project is backed by Min Konme Gurung (UK), Bhoj Bahadur Gurung (UK), and Sapana Gurung. Cinematography will be handled by Sushan Prajapati, while editing is being done by Surendra Paudel.

The film will be distributed nationwide by RR Films, led by Rohit Kattel and Ratna Shrestha.
