Kathmandu — The Nepali film Paanch Pandav, featuring a strong ensemble cast, has officially locked its release date for the upcoming Tihar festival.
The film will be distributed nationwide by RR Films, with producers targeting the festive holiday window for maximum audience reach.
Producer Navin Shrestha said the release date was finalized in consultation with the distribution team, expressing confidence in the film’s commercial potential.
Distributor Rohit Kattel also expressed optimism, stating that the festive season is ideal for family entertainment and that the film is expected to appeal to a wide audience.
The film features a five-lead ensemble including Hari Bansha Acharya, Jeetu Nepal, Aryan Sigdel, Mahesh Tripathi, and Sushil Sitaula.
Additional cast members include Deepa Shree Niraula, Sarita Giri, Binod Neupane, Rama Thapaliya, Prashant Tamrakar, and others.
Directed by Basant Niraula, the screenplay and dialogue are written by Sushil Paudel. The film is described as a social drama drawing symbolic inspiration from the Mahabharata’s five Pandavas to reflect contemporary Nepali society.
Filming is currently underway in Jhapa and Kathmandu Valley, with interior scenes being shot at HMC New Hicoala Hotel in Jhapa.
Cinematography is handled by Shyam Tamang. The production team believes the mix of veteran and new-generation actors will strengthen the film’s appeal.
