Anmol KC will reprise his lead role in Jerry: The Last Climb, with Suyog Gurung officially returning as director. The agreement between producer Saroj Neupane and Gurung was signed on Wednesday.
The film is a sequel to the 2082 hit Jerry: On Top, which was also the highest-grossing project under Ananya Films. The production had already confirmed Anmol KC’s return in the lead role last week.
As part of his remuneration, Gurung received a ‘C10’ model car from Lip Motors, valued at around NPR 7.2 million. The handover took place during a brief ceremony.
Producer Neupane clarified that the car was not a gift but part of the director’s payment, adding that Gurung deserves even higher compensation.
The script for the sequel is currently being written by Brajesh Khanal. Filming is expected to begin after the screenplay is completed in the next two to three months.
Jerry: On Top was a romantic drama set against a mountainous backdrop, and the sequel is expected to continue in a similar tone.
