Kathmandu — The promo of the upcoming Nepali comedy show Comedy Baaj has generated strong audience interest, hinting at a fresh and distinctive approach amid the growing number of comedy programs in Nepal.
Set to premiere this Sunday on television and YouTube, the show introduces a unique format different from existing comedy programs. The first episode features popular social media personalities Rajendra Khadgi and Jaykishan Basnet as special guests.
The 3-minute-30-second promo, released by producer-director Sundar Khanal, showcases engaging humor and lively performances. Notably, the show incorporates a roasting element, where even guests actively participate, adding an extra layer of entertainment.
Produced and directed by Sundar Khanal—who is also associated with the well-known show Comedy Darbar—the program marks a new creative venture for him as he manages both projects simultaneously.
According to Khanal, the show is built around a “battle” format, which is relatively new to Nepali audiences. He expressed confidence that viewers will find it entertaining and refreshing.
The show will be co-hosted by Aarti Thapa alongside Khanal, and will feature performances by comedians including Pawan Khatriwada (Makuri), Bishwas Timilsina (BT Kancha), Saroj Bhandari, Sita Neupane, Shusant Basyal, Ashish Neupane, and Nischal Aryal.
Comedy Baaj will air every Sunday at 8 PM on Image Television and Sundar Khanal’s official YouTube channel.
