Kathmandu. Singer Kushal Pokharel has recorded a song for the post-production film Bob Dai, with its music video now completed.
The video was shot over two days in Bhainsepati, Lalitpur, featuring most of the film’s cast. However, sequences featuring lead actor Saugat Malla will be filmed separately in the coming days, according to the production team.
The lyrics are also written by Pokharel, while the music is composed by Besh Churchil Bhusal. Mixing and mastering were handled by Kepas.
Pokharel, who gained popularity with his viral song Paisa released about a year and a half ago, is making his acting debut through this film. He has previously lent his voice to several film songs.
Produced under Roteping Entertainment in collaboration with Shriram Balaji Films, Bob Dai is a comedy film starring Simran Pant alongside Saugat Malla in the lead role.
Director Prabin Shrestha says the title Bob Dai comes from the Newari pronunciation where “Dai” (elder brother) is pronounced as “Dai.”
The cast includes Santosh Pant, Vishal Pahadi, Pramod Agrahari, Kameshwor Chaurasiya, Kushal Pokharel, Yaman Shrestha, Krishnabhakta Maharjan, Gita Adhikari, Bhintuna Joshi, and others, with child actor Agrim Pandit also appearing.
The story is written by Mainisha Gauchan and Prabin Shrestha, who is also handling editing. Cinematography is by Shyam Tamang and team. Dinesh Bahadur Raut is associate director, and Tarkaraj Neupane is chief assistant director.
Produced by Rajesh Ghimire, Roshan Bhattarai, and Sunil Manandhar, with Ravindra Prajapati as executive producer, the film is slated for release in 2083 BS, with the exact date to be announced soon.
