Nepali film ‘Mitjyu’ sells distribution rights in 6 countries ahead of release

Kathmandu. The Nepali film Mijtyu has secured strong international distribution even before its release, with rights sold in six countries, according to the production team.

Produced under GM Movies Production, the film has been sold out in Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malta, Singapore, and Poland.

Producer Janak Gharti Magar said the Hong Kong rights were acquired by Pathibhara Entertainment, Japan by Wow Entertainment, South Korea by Nepal Magar Association, Malta by Nep Five Entertainment, and Poland by Solti Events.

The team added that discussions are ongoing for additional international markets.

The film features Dayahang Rai, Saugat Malla, and internationally known dancer Teriya Phouja Magar, whose acting debut has generated significant attention.

Songs including Gairaghare Kaili and Bhunbhun Mahi have received positive audience responses, further boosting anticipation.

Set in a rural backdrop, the film features an ensemble cast including Puskar Gurung, Shishir Bangdel, Raj Thapa, Subarna Thapa, Anu Thapa, Smita Lamichhane, Arun Pun Magar, Uttamraj Pandey, Sabin Kattel, Umesh Sonam, Pabitra Khadka, Chahana Rana Magar, Anusha Rai, and Khadg Bahadur Pun Magar (Khabpu), among others.

Teriya Magar makes her acting debut with this film, while actress Rusha Neupane appears in a special dance sequence.

The film is directed by Anil Buda Magar and produced by Janak Gharti Magar. It features editing by Lokesh Bajracharya, cinematography by Shishir Bishnke, and music by Shree Krishna Bam Malla. Playback vocals are provided by Shree Krishna Bam Malla, Melina Rai, and Laxmi Malla.

The film will be distributed by RR Films, with digital rights acquired by OSR. It is set to release nationwide on Jestha 8.
