Kathmandu. The trailer of the Nepali film Ek Muthi Badal, set to release on Jestha 1 (May 14), has been unveiled at a special event in Kathmandu.
The film features Aanchal Sharma in the lead role, and the trailer highlights emotional family conflict and social expectations surrounding marriage and relationships.
Directed by Sahara Sharma, the nearly 2-minute trailer explores complex family dynamics, emotional pressure, and differing perspectives on marriage.
Aanchal Sharma’s character is shown as unwilling to marry, while her family views the marriage as a matter of social prestige, creating the central conflict of the story.
The film features Nisha Sharma, Usha Rajak, Bhima Mainali, Asmita Gautam, Shekhar Chapagain, Manish Niroula, Gaurav Bista, and Aviral Pratap Adhikari among others.
Notably, Nisha Sharma returns to acting after nearly three decades.
Produced under Gaunthali Entertainment and Man Production, the film is produced by Abhimanyu Dixit with executive production by Nikun Shrestha.
The film features international collaboration, including Sara Fazilat (Germany), Samipya Raj Timsina, and Anup Paudel.
Cinematography is by Linh Dan Nguyen Phan of Vietnam, while editing is by India’s Deepa Bhatia. Color grading is done by White Light, Thailand.
The makers describe the film as an emotional social drama exploring marriage, family pressure, and personal choice.
