Kathmandu — The Nepali film Aa Baata Aama 2 officially began its production with a muhurat ceremony held on Monday morning at Patan Bunglamukhi Temple. The team performed a script worship ceremony before formally starting the project.
The film is a sequel to last year’s hit Aa Baata Aama. Key cast members from the original are returning, including Paul Shah, Bipana Thapa, Pradeep Rawat, and Gajit Bista.
New additions to the cast include Aakash Shrestha and Naren Khadka.
Director Chandra Pant said that some cast members are still being finalized, including female leads, and the full cast will be confirmed in the coming days.
He also mentioned that the shooting schedule will be finalized soon, with pre-production and casting work currently in progress.
The production team had earlier announced that the film is planned for a Dashain release. According to the director, Aa Baata Aama 2 is set to hit theaters during the festival season.
The story and screenplay are written by Chandra Pant himself.
Distribution rights are handled by RR Films, while digital rights have been acquired by OSR Digital.
The film is produced under Arya Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., with Karan Singh Rasali serving as production manager.
