Kathmandu — The upcoming Nepali film Kusti, directed by Anil Yonjan, is set to release on Ashoj 9. The film has been shot in Kathmandu and surrounding areas.
According to director Anil Yonjan, the release date was finalized after discussions with distributors and exhibitors, with post-production work now in its final stage.
He described Kusti as a romantic comedy-drama centered on two people with contrasting personalities who struggle to stay together despite their emotional connection.
The film stars Dhiraj Magar and Miruna Magar in lead roles, along with Pushkar Gurung, Luniva Tuladhar, Bholaraj Sapkota, Deekila Sherpa, Rabindra Jha, Rajaram Paudel, Kiran KC, and Subarna Thapa among others.
This film marks the debut of Deekila Sherpa in Nepali cinema.
Director Anil Yonjan also said that discussions are ongoing for international distribution rights, with deals in final stages for release in several countries.
The film features cinematography by Umang Shahi, editing by Mitra Dev Gurung, music by Deepak Sharma, Anil Yonjan, and Kalyan Singh, color grading by Renish Fago, background score by Shailesh Shrestha and Rohit Shakya, and choreography by Shishir Khati.
Digital rights are with OSR Digital, while costume design is handled by IIFT. Distribution is managed by Kathmandu Reach Entertainment, Apple Entertainment, and FD Company.
