Conch Shells and Traditional Panche Baja Mark Grand Launch of ‘Maharajdhiraj’

Kathmandu — The film ‘Maharajdhiraj’, the dream project of director Parichhed Sen, was officially launched on Tuesday with a grand ceremony at Banglamukhi Temple. The event featured the sounds of conch shells and traditional Panche Baja music, creating a festive atmosphere.

The worship ceremony began at 8 AM and continued until 11:11 AM. Actors Pushpa Khadka, Pooja Sharma, Usha Rajak, and Aryan Sigdel, along with members of the production team, attended the event.

According to the production team, filming will begin on the 25th of this month in Shreelanka Tapu, Sunsari. The shoot in Sunsari is scheduled for one week, followed by around 70 days of filming across Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Kirtipur at various historical and scenic locations. Cinematography will be handled by Nabaraj Thapa.

Director Sen stated that ‘Maharajdhiraj’ is a social period drama developed after extensive work on the script. The film features performances by Ramesh Upreti, Keki Adhikari, Gajit Bista, Jaykishan Basnet, Mohan Niraula, Dinesh DC, and Sushil Sitoula, among others.

The cast also includes Neer Shah, Bishal Pahadi, Asha Poudel, Pushkar Karki, Monika Budhathoki, Kavita Puri, Srishti Khadka, Kuldeep Adhikari, and Kamal Devkota.

With around 80 actors involved, the film also stars Kamal Gaule, Shishir Bhandari, Shibu Pandey, Hemant Budhathoki, Pralinsha Koirala, Anju Rasaili, Sanam Shrestha, Suzen Thapa, Ayushma Giri, Ramhari Khadka, Subarna Dulal, Anita Giri, Paras Bastakoti, Kulbahadur Oli, Sapana Ghising, and Pooja Budha.

Produced under the banner of Chhatreshwar Management Pvt. Ltd., the film is presented by Biraj Bista. The screenplay has been written by director Sen himself, while the producers are Rabi Khadka, Shivraj Poudel, and Topendra Bista.

The production team aims to release ‘Maharajdhiraj’ during the upcoming Phulpati festival season.
