The legal hurdle surrounding the release of the film ‘Lalibazar’ has been removed after the Patan High Court lifted the temporary restraining order imposed on the movie.
A joint bench of judges Khadananda Tiwari and Netraprakash Acharya ruled that there was no need to continue the short-term interim order, allowing the film’s release process to move forward.
In its order, the court stated that the issues raised in the writ petition could be examined during the final hearing, and therefore there was no sufficient basis to maintain the interim order issued on Baisakh 15.
“With the matters raised in the writ petition capable of being addressed during the final hearing, there appears to be no need to continue the short-term interim order issued by this court on April 28,” the order reads.
Following the decision, the film ‘Lalibazar’ is now legally cleared for public release.
