‘Malati Mangale’ Opens Nationwide With Strong Buzz After Acclaimed Premiere

Kathmandu — Nepali film ‘Malati Mangale’ has officially hit theaters across Nepal from Friday, backed by highly positive premiere reactions and strong audience anticipation. According to distributor Rohit Kattel, the film has secured more than 150 shows nationwide, signaling an aggressive box-office opening.

The film drew widespread praise during its grand premiere event attended by politicians, artists, and film critics. Rabi Lamichhane described the movie as “a story Nepali society needs to tell,” adding to the growing excitement surrounding the release.

Critics and viewers have particularly appreciated the film’s storytelling, emotional depth, and performances. Actor Bijay Baral has once again impressed audiences with his natural acting style, while actress Barsha Raut is being praised for delivering what many call the finest performance of her career so far.

Popular television comedy performer Meksam Gaudel has also received attention for his impactful presence on the big screen. Supporting performances by Prakash Ghimire, Sarita Giri, Narin Thapa, Mansu Sapkota, Susma Niroula and Sunil Tamang have also been widely appreciated.

Produced under the banners of Rani Films and Uni Entertainment, the social drama is directed by Praku Pandey. The story has been written by the director himself, while the screenplay and dialogues were penned by Sanyog Guragain.

The film is produced by Ram Krishna Dhakal, with Sagar Gyawali serving as executive producer. Technically, the film has also received praise, featuring cinematography by Mahesh Poudel, editing by Romi Moses, color grading by Krishna Bhandari, background score by Sujil Karmacharya, and sound design by Dikesh Khadgi.

With strong premiere word-of-mouth and a massive nationwide release, industry observers expect ‘Malati Mangale’ to perform strongly at the box office.
